- Consider the fuel consumption rate of the car, no. of kilometers run, after market add ons, condition of the car etc while pricing . Whereas on the same hand, you do not want to over cost it as this is will reduce the no. of potential buyers.
- Wash, vacuum-clean and wax the car. Check for your personal belonging in the car like books, newspapers, wallets, mobile charger etc. also empty the trunk, the dash boards etc. fix any small problems with the broken knobs, sticking windows, torn upholstery. Clean the interior thoroughly.
- Keep all the car document together. The original car papers, the repair papers etc. keep al the papers in order. Keep Xeroxes too in case the customers ask for it. Also be sure you don't have any outstanding tickets.
- you'll need to advertise your used car too. Post advertisements in the local newspaper, local radio station. You will be able to put signs in front of your house, local garage etc. post ads online too. Make sure you spread the news as much as possible. The more people know the more prospective buyers you will find.
- When a customer shows interest in your used car, explain to him the reasons of selling the car. Let them go for a test drive. Show him the entire required car document. But don't entertain all the buyers. Alot of such buyers such try to waste the seller’s time.
